Governance
Built to be examined.
Discretion is our manner, not our method. The structures behind the Foundation are conventional, conservative and documented, because institutions that handle other people's money owe them boredom.
Structure
Who answers for what
The Council
Direction and final authority rest with the Foundation Council, which sets allocation policy, approves programmes and answers for the whole.
Investment Committee
Deployment follows a written allocation policy. Positions are reviewed on a fixed cadence, and no single person can commit the Endowment alone.
Compliance Review
Every mandate and significant gift passes eligibility and compliance review before acceptance. Declining is always an available outcome, and is used.
Controls
Where the money sits, and how it moves
Custody
Foundation capital is held with regulated banks and custodians, segregated from the operating companies of the CNOTA group.
Reporting
Benefactors receive consolidated reporting on a fixed cadence: what the capital earned, what the earnings funded, and where their grove stands.
Integrity
Know-your-client, source-of-wealth and sanctions screening apply to every mandate and significant gift, without exception.
Documentation
Entity, registration and audit documentation is provided with mandate paperwork, and to institutions on request under confidentiality.
For institutions
Banks, custodians, counsel and counterparties conducting due diligence on the Foundation are welcome to write to legal@cnota.eu. Requests are answered by the legal desk, with documentation under confidentiality where appropriate. We consider hard questions a compliment.
Boring where it counts.
The adventurous part of this Foundation is what the returns build, never how the capital is kept.
